Kilimanjaro Machame Route

From $2500 / person

Embark on this 7-day Kilimanjaro Machame route, also known as the Whiskey route, renowned for its challenging terrain and stunning scenery. The Machame route is one of the most popular and favored paths to the summit, offering one of the highest success rates due to its “trek high, sleep low” approach, which significantly aids in acclimatization.

Starting on the southwestern side of Mount Kilimanjaro, the Machame route ascends steeply northward, traversing the expansive Shira Plateau and merging with the Shira and Lemosho routes just after Shira Cave Camp. While the route can be completed in a minimum of six days, a seven-day trek is highly recommended. This extra day allows climbers to better acclimatize and rest, increasing the likelihood of a successful and enjoyable ascent to the summit.

This route not only offers a rewarding challenge but also some of the most spectacular views on the mountain, making it a favorite among adventurers.
